This is a new blog that relates to all sorts of things. At the moment, these things are pretty much political. But in future I expect them to branch out into a whole host of other areas. My interests, aside from politics, are in philosophy, cultural theory, literature, poetry, theatre, education, marxism, anarchism, aesthetics, activism, counterculture, Buddhism, music, and life in general.
To engage with the world, for me, means to question and actively challenge the systems and power structures upon which this flawed world rests, be they economic, political, social, aesthetic, institutional, or religious. Where power is wielded, it is our duty to examine the moral legitimacy of that authority, and where legitimacy is found to be lacking, we must work towards its dismantling in favour of a more egalitarian and compassionate alternative (Chomsky).
My contribution to the cause is therefore to write a blog with proper references and everything.
So yeah, take that, system!
